Sessions at the Yard June 2022
Hello everyone, here is our session plan for this month 🙂
On Tuesday June 21st we are going swimming at Budleigh Farm’s outdoor swimming pool! We are leaving at 5 pm and will be returning around 8.30 pm. Please bring your swim stuff, suitable slip on trainers or sandals, something warm to wear afterwards, a snack and drink of water! Cost is £5 and booking is essential.
On the 15th Pet Day is back, you are welcome to bring your friendly pet for the first 1/2 hour of the session. Pets must not mind having their photos taken! Please also bring a family member who can walk or take your pet home.
On the 29th during our normal session time, we will be walking down to the Wray Brook at the bottom of the Sentry hill, with kind permission from the landowner (weather dependent). We do need a short consent form for this – it can be filled in on the day. This is always really fun thing to do and we will also be making and racing paper boats.
Please continue to be safe everyone – we know restrictions have lifted but if you do have symptoms of Covid (or any other nasty bug) at home please consider staying at home until you aren’t infectious 🙂

Volunteer opportunity
Is the wellbeing and safeguarding of young people and families important to you? Would you like to contribute to the wellbeing of young people, and take advantage of training and skills development for yourself?
We have openings for volunteer assistant youth support workers here at the Yard. No experience or training is necessary and we welcome applications from everyone. You will need to be motivated to help provide positive experiences for young people, to continue your own learning and self-development and be able to build on your own communication skills.
This is a great chance not only to contribute to your community but to gain experience and training, and build your CV.
Due to the role, volunteering is conditional on an enhanced DBS check and the completion of essential training. Requests for more info or an informal chat are very welcome. Contact us at theyardmay@gmail.com for an application form or with any queries.
